Without the theological aspect, the emphasis on adoption too easily is seen as mere charity.  Without the Missional aspect, the doctrine of adoption too easily is seen as a mere metaphor.Russell Moore p18 Adopted for Life
In love, He has predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ
- Ephesians 1:6

God’s character is to adopt sinful orphans, like you and me, to be his children.  And as image-bearers of God’s character, we reflect His heart through adopting children into our families.

Below are some resources to get you started.  Careful, once you open your heart follow God in adoption, you might not be able to get it off your mind.  Risk It All!

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8-10

Vision Trip to Rwanda

January 12, 2010

Back in April, it became apparent that God was moving our church to a new mission beachhead- Africa- and Rwanda specifically.  Since that time, one of our own teammates, Natalie Green, has begun working for Africa New Life Ministries.  And on January 12th, Zac Allen and a couple other teammates will leave for a week-long vision trip. The purpose of the vision trip is to see the mission landscape and ask God to show us how He wants Austin Bible to proclaim the gospel in Rwanda.  Please be praying for this upcoming trip.  We are also going to fill 2-4 suitcases with needed supplies for an orphanage. We will be collecting donated items the next few weeks on Sunday mornings. If you are interested in donating a list of items can be found below.
