ROOTS Children’s Ministry

Our purpose

• To serve the children of God and their families by providing an engaging place for them on Sundays to encounter Christ through worship, discussion, crafts, community, and prayer
• Equip parents with tools and scripture to help them carry out the gospel at home

What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

• A ROOTS volunteer will escort you and your children to age-appropriate classrooms where you will receive a pager and/or badge to keep until you pick your child up after the service.  
• Our kids are split into 7 different age groups: Sprouts (newborn to 12 mo), Seedlings (12 mo to 24 mo), Honeysuckles (24 mo up to 3 yrs), Twigs (3 and 4 yr olds), Saplings (Pre K and K), Cedars (1st and 2nd grades), and Mighty Oaks (3rd through 5th grades).
• Kids 3 yrs and up have time both in the classroom with their age group and time in worship with all of the kids in ROOTS worship 

Time in the classroom is enriched with

• A scripture memory verse and discussion of the truth for the day      
• Craft,  playtime, and prayer
• Babies and Toddlers:  a place of nurture and love where the parents can leave their little ones and know they will be cared for and prayed for while they engage in their own worship time.

ROOTS worship

Get excited about this brand new worship time for our pre-school – 5th grade classes.  ROOTS volunteers will usher children to the choir room at 10:15 where they will sing songs, hear stories, and learn the Word of God.   Kids will then be taken back to their classrooms at 10:45 where they will continue with theme-related stories, crafts, and verses.   

Midweek Family Time

Emailed letter of encouragement for families to continue to encounter God together and walk daily through scripture together.

ROOTS Volunteers

Austin Bible depends on its faithful volunteers to serve families and their children each Sunday.  We welcome anyone who has a heart to teach and love on kids. All volunteers must complete a criminal background check and are always with another teaching partner. The rotation for this ministry is 2 weeks on and then 6 off.
